Hello MMO Families!

April is here and it looks like maybe Spring has finally sprung! We’ve had a good time learning about the Jungle, and now we’re studying Things That Go!

A few reminders:

Registration – if you haven’t registered for the 2018/19 school year, and you want us to hold a space for your child, please fill out the online registration as soon as possible. If you know your child won’t be back next year, please let us know so that we know we have an open spot. We will send out invoices during the first week of June for August/September Preschool tuition, and the Drop In first month’s deposit of $100 – payment will be due June 21. If we do not receive payment by June 21, your child’s spot may be opened up to another family on the waiting list.

Outdoor Gear – we want to get outside as much as possible! Please send your child with appropriate coats/jackets and shoes.

Teacher Appreciation Week is coming soon – here’s a message from Emily Harrington, MMO Board Member:

We are celebrating our SuperWomen – Monday, May 7 through Friday, May 11 for Teacher’s Appreciation Week! Our teachers are superheroes in disguise! In lieu of gifts throughout the week, we are making it as convenient as possible for you! Please feel free to donate to a larger gift for our every day superheroes! You can use the slip we will send home with you and have your donation added to your bill. Or, add a donation to the box in Amy’s office.

You’ll receive a flier next week with all the details about daily themes and activities! Check your child’s backpack.

Big Fish Celebration – the Big Fish will be celebrating the end of their preschool careers and moving on the Kindergarten on Wednesday, May 23. Big Fish families will receive more information soon.

And, speaking of careers and moving on, here’s a message from Danielle Bender, MMO Board President:

I am writing to inform you that Amy will be resigning from her MMO position at the end of this 17’-18’ school year to continue teaching at Parkland College and Millkin University. Jennifer Clark, the current Assistant Director & Big Fish teacher, will take over as Director June 1^st, 2018, while Carrie Bushman, current Big Fish teacher, will take over as the Assistant Director. Not only have Jennifer and Carrie had a long and positive history working for MMO (Jennifer 10 years; Carrie 9 years), but they’ve also sent their own children through MMO’s curriculum. The Board of Directors and I are confident that their combined experience, knowledge, creativity, enthusiasm and dedication to the program will only mean wonderful things for the future of My Morning Out. Please help in wishing Amy farewell and welcoming Jennifer and Carrie to the new administration team!
